Investigation of aflatoxin M1 in milks in the Giresun region

Aflatoxins are secondary metabolites which do not have any specific functions for cell and microorganism. Aflatoxins are named according to their colors under ultraviolet light and those who show the color blue are called B1 and B2, those with the color green are called G1 and G2. B2 and G2 are dehydrate derivatives of B1 and G1, M1 and M2 are derivatives of B1 and B2, and they are isolated from milk, urine and ordure of animals that have been fed with food consisting Aflatoxin. In this research, the raw milk of cows growing up in the Giresun region, has been boiled for 10 minutes at low heat in home environment and the milk collected and pasteurized by the facility of Hekim Süt, have been analyzed for Aflatoxin M1 with the HPLC (High performance liquid chromatography) method. In the end of the research, Aflatoxin M1 was not determined both in raw milk, in boiled milk and in pasteurized milk.
