Abstract (EN)

During this research, Guiseppe Verdi's -one of the most important Romantic Era Italian composers- opera Rigoletto, his other solo roles starting with the role "Rigoletto", which was written as baritone, chorus, theme and the problem of interpretation were aimed to be studied. In this study; the solo parts of the opera -especially of Rigoletto, the main role of the opera-, duets, terzetto, quartet and the chorus parts, singing technique, character interpretation problem were analyzed both technically and based on my experiences of the studies on preparing the main role, Rigoletto. When these researches were made, both my costars, the maestros, and the visual and auditory records of the play were made use of. Furthermore, Giuseppe Verdi's life and other works will also be studied in this research. In addition to these studies, Victor Hugo's life and the theme his novel "Le roi s'amuse" was mentioned, because the libretto of the play Rigoletto was adapted from this novel. Rigoletto's theme made of third acts, its libretto, and the subtitles used in Ankara State Opera and Ballet will also be mentioned. The expression of how the main plot reflects on the libretto and the difficulties of transferring the plot to the audience is the reason why.
