Investigation of the correlation between personality traits, level of altruism and life satisfaction in young adults participating in volunteering activities

Abstract (EN)
This study, it was aimed to examine the correlation between personality traits, altruism, and life satisfaction levels of young adults participating in volunteering activities. In this direction, a total of 420 (340 women and 80 men) young adults participated in the study between the ages of 18-35 who were active volunteers. The Personal Information Form, Adjective Based Personality Test, Altruism Scale and, Life Satisfaction Scale were applied to the young adults who participated in the study and their analyzes were made. As a result of the research, it was found that the personality traits of young volunteers significantly predicted the total altruism level and life satisfaction with the sub-dimensions of participation in volunteering activities, financial aid, aid under traumatic situations, aid to older people/patients, aid based on physical strength, aid in educational process, aid based on intimate feeling. While the total altruism levels of young volunteers significantly predicted their life satisfaction, it was determined that participation in volunteering activities, financial aid, aid under traumatic situations, aid to older people/patients, aid based on physical strength, aid in educational process, aid based on intimate feeling did not significantly predict life satisfaction.
