Investigation of the anxiety and aggressive levels of visually impaired athletes in terms of different variables

The aim of this study is to examine the anxiety and aggression levels of visually impaired athletes in terms of different variables. The research was designed in the screening model in this study conducted to determine the relationship between trait, state anxiety and aggression levels of visually impaired male amateur and professional athletes playing goalball. The research group consists of 22 visually impaired male athletes playing in the Turkish Men's National Goalball team. In the study, the "Personal Information Form" developed by the researcher in order to measure the socio-demographic characteristics of visually impaired male goalball athletes, the "State-Trait Anxiety Scale" adapted to Turkish by Öner and LeCompe (1983) and the "Buss-Perry Aggression questionnaire" adapted to Turkish by Madran (2012) were used as data collection tools. Descriptive analysis was performed on the obtained data. After testing the normality of the data, the Mann Whitney U test and ANOVA test was used in comparisons between groups, and the Spearman correlation test was used in correlation analysis. The significance level was taken as 0.05. As a result of the research, it was determined that the trait anxiety levels of visually impaired athletes were at a moderate level, their state anxiety levels were low and their aggression levels were at a moderate level.
