Abstract (EN)
Concrete is composite load-bearing building materials. The deformation behavior of the load-bearing materials under load is very important for the building system in which it is located. Investigation of the behavior patterns of load-bearing building materials which exhibit brittle and quasibrittle behavior at various load levels provides an advantage in the evaluation of mechanical properties. For this purpose, in this study; the data of the deformations occurring within the concrete samples in different stress-strain regions were investigated using image analysis technique. Experimental examples; They were kept under elastic limit load for 2 hours at elastic, plastic and breaking points. For microstructure studies to be carried out by image analysis method, epoxy has been absorbed into samples and made ready for thin section method. Thin section samples were taken for each series from epoxy impregnated concrete test samples, examined under a microscope and photographed. After transferring the photographs to the computer, deformation researches were carried out by image analysis method. As a result of microstructure studies, it was determined that crack formation and types change due to increased stress and deformations, crack formations move in concrete parallel to the loading direction and especially prefer cement paste-aggregate interface area.
