Abstract (EN)
In this study, the surface of the glassy carbon electrode has been modified by chitosan (Chi) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) at different ratios. The catalytic activities of the prepared electrodes for the electrochemical hydrogen evolution were investigated by the electrochemical methods such as cyclic voltammetry, Tafel polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The composite surface which has the highest current density was modified by Pd metal at the nanoscale with two different methods and the hydrogen evolution performances of the prepared rGO/Chi/Pd nanocomposite structures were compared with the same electrochemical methods. The surface properties and the chemical compositions of the obtained rGO, rGO/Chi ve rGO/Chi/Pd nanocomposites on the glassy carbon electrode were investigated by the scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS) techniques.
