Abstract (EN)
In this study, advanced exergy analysis of an absorption cooling system based on solar energy was performed. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of system parameters on system performance. Firstly, different literature studies have been evaluated and researches have been made about the existing systems in practice. In addition, the types of working systems with absorption and the variety of working fluids were mentioned. In the EES program, the ammonia-water fluid pair was selected to analyze single-effect absorption cooling systems. Ammonia was chosen as refrigerant and ammonia-water solution was chosen as absorbent. Using the first law of thermodynamics, the mass and energy balance equations for each component were found. Thus, enthalpy and entropy values of each point in the cycle and thermodynamic properties of fluids were calculated. After the energy analysis of the system, conventional exergy values of the components in the system were calculated by using the second law of thermodynamics. The cooling performance (COP) of the system was found. Conventional exergy analysis fails to obtain more detailed analysis results. Therefore, further exergy analysis is needed to obtain more accurate results. Further exergy analysis identified the relationship between the components in the system and their development potential. Total exergy destruction of the system was calculated as 16.45 kw, cooling performance was 0.3 and exergy efficiency was calculated as 30%. The expansion valve1 and pump are the components with the smallest avoidable exergy destruction rate.
