Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the levels of exercise addiction, body image, and self-esteem among individuals who engage in regular exercise, and to investigate whether there is a relationship between these variables. The research was conducted using a survey model and focused on tennis players in the Southeastern and Eastern Anatolia regions. According to the results of the study, there was a low and statistically insignificant negative relationship between participants' levels of exercise addiction and body image. This finding may suggest that individuals with exercise addiction have a more positive body image or that there is a weak relationship between these variables. Furthermore, the research revealed a negative relationship between participants' levels of exercise addiction and self-esteem. In other words, as the level of exercise addiction increased, participants' self-esteem decreased. This finding implies that exercise addiction can influence individuals' self-perception and, in some cases, lead to low self-esteem. Moreover, the study found that the level of exercise addiction did not vary significantly based on demographic variables such as age, gender, education level, marital status, height, and weight. This indicates that these variables do not have a direct impact on exercise addiction. It suggests that exercise addiction is prevalent among individuals regardless of their demographic characteristics. The findings of this study contribute to our understanding of the relationships between exercise addiction, body image, and self-esteem among individuals who engage in regular exercise. Evaluating the effects of exercise addiction on individuals' body perception and self-esteem can provide valuable information for exercise programs and guidance processes. Additionally, further research on this topic is recommended to delve deeper into these relationships.
