Abstract (EN)
Along with the increasing needs and demands throughout the world, human needs for nature and natural products are also ever increasing. Turkey has different and specific climate conditions in every region, therefore has highly rich flora of ethnobotanical plants. Eastern Blacksea Region, especially the Province of Rize, is among those regions with highly rich flora. This study was carried out between the years of 2017 and 2018 to determine the ethnobotanical properties of some of the taxa grown in Güneysu (Rize). The study conducted includes one to one interviews and surveys with the local people. As a result of the study, it was found that 112 taxa from 62 families have ethnobotanical characteristics within the borders of Güneysu (Rize). The richest families with regard to number of species are as follows: Rosaceae, 11 taxa (6.79%); Lamiaceae and Asteraceae, 6 taxa (3.70%); Apiaceae Ericaceae and Solanaceae, 5 taxa (3.09%). The distribution of the detected taxa across phytogeographical regions is as follows: Europe Siberia element, 36 (32%); Mediterranean element, 10 (9%); and those of which geographical region are unknown and prefer more than one geographical regions, 66 (59%).
