Abstract (EN)

Enhancing effective communication and being possesed of the language depends on owning a super verbalism. All words in a language is the asset of vocabulary. Although there are many studies on the existence of vocabulary, these studies are still considered to be insufficient. The fact that one of the two important projects carried out by the Ministry of National Education is related to the asset of the vocabulary of Turkish is the view that the importance of vocabulary works has increased day by day. In this study named "The Contribution Of H. Salih Zengin's Vocabulary In Children's Stories To Turkish Education", it is aimed to reveal the asset of vocabulary in Zengin's works "Very Blue Stories" and "Very Cool Stories" and to contribute to the studies conducted in this direction. Document analysis method and descriptive survey model were used in the study. In the research, the information about children's literature and the story which is one of the type of children's literature was firstly given. Turkish language instruction and Turkish as a subject in the context of National Education were mentioned in general. The asset of vocabulary and the elements that form the basis of the study were discussed in detail. It was also focused on H. Salih Zengin's life and his literary personality, who has written many works in the field of children's literature. In the analyzing part of the study, the vocabulary items in the works (basic vocabulary, terms, idioms, proverbs, reduplications, pattern words, slang expressions) were determined and the findings were tabulated and interpreted in terms of Turkish language instruction. As a result of the research, it was determined that H. Salih Zengin's works "Very Blue Stories" and "Very Cool Stories" were at a sufficient level except for proverbs, phrases and slang expressions. In particular, it was found that the works examined were rich in the sense of vocabulary elements such as basic vocabulary, terms and phrases. In addition, it was determined that the vocabulary items identified in the stories could contribute to instruction of Turkish for first stage students.
