Abstract (EN)

In this study, the dry-sliding abrasion resistance of polymer based material whose trade name is Clarofast was tried to be increased by using rolling scale (Fe2O3). Composite sample was produced by adding 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25% and 61-67, 67-91, 91-125 µm rolling mill scale (Fe2O3) into Clarofast matrix. Samples were produced by pressing for 40 minutes under 250 C and 50 N load in a 40 mm diameter and 10 mm thickness hot molding device. The samples were cleaned with compressed air and subjected to dry- sliding abrasion tests at a shear rate of 0.15 m / sec under a load of 7 and 10 N. As a result of the experiments, it was observed that the abrasion resistance of composite samples increased depending on the size and ratio of reinforcing material. The best abrasion resistance was observed in the samples with 5% Fe2O3 added, while increasing reinforcing material ratio was found to decrease the abrasion resistance. The increased reinforcing material size positively affected the wear resistance.
