Abstract (EN)

Turkish people have not been under the sovereignty of different nations throughty in history. They struggled for the liberation of the nation. Haluk Nihat Pepeyi writes about the struggle of Turks in Anatolia by collecting folk materials. The poet combines the material of natural epics with modern human thoughts. The objective of our thesis is to highlight the underpinnings of artificial epic and nationalism by analyzing the structural elements and motifs present in the material. In the "Introductory Chapter" of my thesis, the development of nationalism in the Ottoman Empire is discussed in terms of the relationship between literature and politics. The idea shaped by the understanding of Turkish-Muslim formed in Anatolia is explained with the concept of Anatolianism. "First Chapter" includes Haluk Nihat Pepeyi's biography, literary personality and the people who influenced the artist. In "Second Chapter", Haluk Nihat's works are analyzed within the framework of structural elements such as person, place and time. In this section, attention was drawn to the use of motifs. In the "Conclusion Chapter", it is shown that the artist combined the ideology of Anatolianism with Central Asian and geographic materials. The epics that were formed addressed the ideas of Turkish liberation. He informed the people and conveyed his ideology. He wanted to prevent the natural epic from disappearing in the face of modern species with artificial epics. Key Words: Haluk Nihat Pepeyi, Anatolia, Artificial epic.
