Abstract (EN)

Iran hosts many ethnic groups. These ethnic groups are the cultural richness of the country. But the cultural presence of non-Persian ethnic groups in the Shah's regime was laid aside. The Turks were very affected by this situation. Shah administration considered Turks to be a threat. They attempted to build the national identity of the state on Persian nationalism. While creating a new identity based on the old Persian and Sassanid perception, other cultural identities were tried to be destroyed. As a result of the repressive policy of the administration, as well as the political and economic conflicts in the country and in the world, the Iranian Islamic revolution took place in 1979. After the revolution, the Shah left the country and was replaced by Ayatollah Khomeini, the religious leader in exile. In this period, the Islamic Republic of Iran was established and the repressive policy of the previous administration was temporarily suspended. Varlık journal started its publication in this period. The main purpose of the journal was to keepTurkish language and culture alive. Especially Hamid Nutki has received many writing pen on Turkish grammar.
