Harrison Gray Otis wight and American missionaries activities in The Ottoman Empire (1830-1862)

Harrison Gray Otis Dwight is one of the first American missionaries that came into the borders of the Ottoman Empire. He became one of the influential figures in the name of missionary in Anatolia which called as "Bible Land" by Protestans between 1830 and 1832. Harrison Gray Otis Dwight was particularly noted for his work on Armenians. Not only working at the desk but also traveling almost all of Anatolia, reporting a lot of information including the topographic structure of the region, population characteristics and traditions of the people in the region, he became the person who drew the roadmap of the missionaries. He deserved his nickname "The father of the Armenians" that historians gave him.
