Hasan Şefik's Nahv-i Turki (Review-text-grammar terms-index-dictionary-facsimile)

With the emphasis on mother tongue teaching and the implementation of the decisions taken by Encümen-i Dâniş on education, many works were written on Turkish grammar in the Tanzimat Period and after, and textbooks were also prepared. The vast majority of these grammar books are on the structure/ morphology of Turkish. Among the grammars written in the 19th century, the first work on Turkish syntax is Selim Sâbit's Nahv-i Osmânî (1298/1882) and the second one is Hasan Şefik's Nahv-i Türkî (1303/1887). Nahv-i Türkî (1303/1887), which was written by Hasan Şefik (1847-?), who was a French teacher at Mekteb-i Maarif-i Mülkiye and Mercan High School, in our study, text, index to grammar, dictionary, analyzed under facsimile titles. In the first part of our study, information about Hasan Şefik's life and works is given within the scope of the history of Turkish grammar books. In this section, under the title of introduction, the aim, method and scope of the study are emphasized. In the second part, the printed work in Arabic letters (the first edition of Nahv-i Türkî) was translated into Latin letters. In the third chapter, the index of grammatical terms in the work has been prepared. In the fourth chapter presents an index of the Turkish and quoted suffixes that the author explains in the text by giving examples. In the fifth chapter, words that were mentioned in the text but are no longer used today have been identified and a dictionary has been created. At the end of the work, evaluations were made about the work and a facsimile of the work has been added.
