Evaluation of airport terminal buildings in the context of growth: Gaziantep Oguzeli Airport sample

With the development of industry and commerce in the world, transportation networks have increased and air transportation has developed faster than other types of transportation. The number of people using air transportation is increasing day by day because it is faster, safer and more comfortable than other modes of transportation. Meeting the increased demand for passengers and freight has brought about the problem of building new airports or increasing the capacity of existing ones. It is important for their future to be able to respond to today's needs as the airports are structures that contribute to the social and cultural development of the region in which they are located. The aim of this study is to propose a sustainable solution proposal by evaluating the flexibility of design of terminal buildings in order to improve the capacity. The study is limited to the flexibility of the design of airports. The study analyzed the scope of the airports capacity performances in Turkey, submitted proposals to the terminals according to the appropriate growth performance of airports. The analysis method was used as a method. Terminal area, apron capacity and airports in Turkey last five years total number of passenger, total payload and total aircraft traffic are used as data. In the scope of the study, airport samples were also evaluated from around the world. The airport terminal buildings were evaluated in terms of architecture, and the tables provided with the visual expressions with the lines during the evaluation phase.
