Abstract (EN)

In this study the polygenic characters as fecundity, longevity, mortality and fitness of the wildtype of Adıyaman Drosophila melanogaster were investigated in the context of life historytheory. Study was done in the temperature and humidity controlled insectarium at 25 ± 1 0Ctemperature and % 40-60 rh. Study was conducted under dark condition accept the counting andtransferring treatments. When the results were evaluated, there were no statistical significancebetween the fecundity values of control group and experimental groups. When viability valueswere compared with control group, the AYL (% 57.88) group had no significant difference thanthat of the control (% 61.03). Viability value of AYD (% 53.66) group was significantly lessthan either AYL group or control group. In the AYD group, difference between the males andthe females mean longevity (?:65.14 ± 3.8, ?:61.14 ± 5.4) was not statistically significant. Inthe AYL group (?:65.38 ± 2.9, ?:51.00 ± 2.2) the difference between the sexes was importantin the favor of females. The difference between the males of AYL and AYD was not important. But, the mean longevity of AYD and AYL males was significantly less than control males(?:74.66 ± 3.0). The difference between mean longevity of AYD and AYL females also wasnot statistically important. Mean longevity of AYD and AYL females was significantly lessthan control females (?:81.11 ± 0.4). According to the control group(?:107.66 ± 0.6, ?:107.66 ± 0.6) difference between the males maximum life span of AYL and AYD groups wasnot important but, the maximum life span of AYL?s females was significantly low. Thedifference between sexes in AYL group, maximum longevity of the males (?:107.66 ± 0.6) wassignificantly higher than females (?:99.66±0.3) but not in the between sexes of AYD(?:103.00 ± 2.3, ?:104.33±2.6).The results mentioned above, allows us to suggest that adaptation to laboratory conditions ofAdıyaman Drosophila melanogaster wild type population with the occurrence of disparity inlife history contributes through increasing viability from 53.66 ± 1.5to 57.88 ± 0.7.
