Abstract (EN)

People have set certain limitations on their lives. The religion that people believe in has a great effect on the formation of these limitations. People act according to the orders given to them in line with their beliefs. One of these orders in Islam is the concept of halal food. Halal food concept; It is called products that are prepared completely in accordance with Islamic rules. In other words, it covers the parts of the products from raw materials, food additives, factory production and packaged and put into service. Halal food first emerged in line with the demand of Muslims living in non-Muslim countries. This demand was later extended to Muslim-dense countries. It is not known how the products produced in line with the developing industry and technologies are obtained. Therefore, companies obtain halal food certificate in order to supply products that consumers can easily buy. Halal food certificate; It is the certificate issued if the products produced by the authorized institutions comply with the Islamic rules. The concept of halal food in Turkey does not have a long history. Nowadays, halal food certificate is given by state control and state affiliates. This study was carried out in order to understand the consumption behavior of consumers in Adıyaman province, the intention of purchasing halal certified food products and the meaning of halal food for consumers and the data obtained from 388 valid questionnaires were analyzed by SPSS 20.0 program. According to the results obtained from the research, it was found that gender makes a significant difference in halal food behavior in favor of women, and married women make a significant difference compared to single age group and middle age group. In addition, the sensitivity of wage earners, freelancers and housewives was higher. Similarly, it was seen that those with low monthly income were more sensitive than other income groups and primary education graduates were more sensitive than other education groups.
