Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine the relationship between nurses' perceived level of organisational and managerial support and their attitudes towards evidence-based nursing. This descriptive was conducted on 295 nurses working at Malatya İnönü University Turgut Özal Medical Centre between October 2023-June 2024. Data were collected using a personal information form, the Attitude Towards Evidence-Based Nursing Questionnaire (ATEBNO), the Perceived Organizational Support Scales (POSS), and the Supervisor Support Scale (SSS). Descriptive statistical analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H test, and regression analysis were used to analyse the data. 50.2% of participants reported having up-to-date professional knowledge, but only 33.2% reported providing evidence-based care. The mean score of nurses on the ATEBNO was found to be at a moderate level, while the mean scores of nurses on the POSS and S were found to be below the moderate level. Regression analyses revealed that perceived organizational support had no statistically significant effect on evidence-based nursing attitudes (p>0.05). Managerial support was found to have a statistically significant effect on evidence-based nursing attitudes. These findings suggest that individual level professional motivation, access to information and perceived self-efficacy may be more determinant than perceived organisational or managerial support in the development of positive attitudes towards evidence-based nursing. Accordingly, it is recommended that structured training programmes and continuing professional development activities aimed at improving nurses' individual awareness, information literacy and critical thinking skills should be prioritised to increase the adoption of evidence-based practice.
