Review of the training activity given to nursing students on contrast substance usage

This study was done to examine the effectiveness of education given to nursing students on the use of constrast agent. The pretest-final test is a semi-experimental study in which the single-group model is applied. The sample of the work was made up of 79 nursing students studying in the third year of the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. The number of samples has been found as a result of the Gpower program sampl eanalysis. The data is collected using the Demonstrative Features Form and Contrast Agent Information Level Form. The forms have been sumbitted to expert opinion and minor corrections have been made. The data collection process was carried out in three stages as pretest, final test and contrast subject education. First of all, pretesting was applied to nursing students. After that, the educational presentation of contrast prepared by researchers was explained to nursing students along with a brochure. As the last stage of the data collection process, the final test was applied one week after the training. 92.4% of students are between theages of 20-23 and 59.5% are female students. Looking at the general weighted grade averages of the students, it is seen that 57% is between 2.6 and 3.0 average, 77% of the students graduated from anatolian high school, and 91.1% did not graduate from the university otherwise. It is distorted that only the general weighted grade averages of students affect their knowledge levels regarding contrast agent education. It has been observed that theages, sexes of the students, the high school they graduated from and the status of graduating from another university has no effect on the change in the level of knowledge related to contrast agent education. Since contrast agents are a group of drugs with positive and negative significant effects, it may be recommedded to give such education to nursing students or to be added to the curriculum and expand the studies on the subject.
