Abstract (EN)

In this thesis; studies have been carried out on resource allocation in heterogeneous networks, which are systems to meet the demand for high-bandwidth communication. For this purpose, resource allocation was made with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA). The main features of Heterogeneous Networks (HetNets) are to increase the reuse of spatial resources and improve the service quality of users by allowing small cells to work together in macro cell networks. However, HetNets require a limited number of resources and efficient Resource Allocation (RA) schemes to reduce interference, spectrum sharing and interference between different users. The resource allocation problem was investigated by Discrete Particle Swarm Optimization (DPSO). In this review, downlink communication from base stations to users has been considered. The DPSO algorithm used in resource allocation is used for the following situations: Resource allocation is made to maximize the communication speed of a certain number of users, Network Energy Efficiency (NEE) or Weighted Energy Efficiency Sum (WSEE) of users. Total speed, NEE and WSEE performance; although the number of base stations is affected by many parameters such as the number of users, the transmitter power and the static power consumed at the base stations, the DPSO resource allocation used in the study showed a very good performance for all of them. In particular, the use of this resource allocation becomes more important as the number of users in the network increases and the number of resources becomes limited. In addition, this resource allocation can be used to ensure the principle of equality among users. As a result, resource allocation in heterogeneous networks is very important to maximize network performance and energy efficiency. Resource allocation helps better manage the network and improves users' experience. Key Words: OFDMA, HetNets, DPSO, RA, NEE, WSEE
