Abstract (EN)
Natural events such as earthquakes, landslides, and floods are very often repeated in our country and can frequently cause disastrous social, economic, and environmental losses. Landslides are defined as the down slope movement of rock, soil surface, or debris. Moreover, landslides are natural events having a variety of root causes and formation characteristics. This master thesis is aimed to evaluate the Nallıhan District in Ankara to determine the area's susceptibility to landslides and to propose landslide control structures for susceptible areas. For this purpose, based on the previous landslides in the study area, it is aimed to determine the areas where landslides are likely to occur and prepare a landslide susceptibility map of 3894.811 hectares. The landslide susceptibility analysis of Nallıhan District in Ankara will be performed using Logistic Regression Method and Frequency Ratio Methods, which is one of the most preferred methods in the literature, by using a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) based program. As a result of this research, after the historical landslide inventory is obtained, the landslide inventory map will be updated with field studies and remote sensing techniques such as aerial photographs and satellite images. The potential for landslides to occur in the area where field study and office work will be carried out together will be evaluated along with their characteristics and classes. In the landslide susceptibility analysis, with the landslide inventory, seven thematic parameters will be used, namely height, slope, aspect, plan and profile curvature, land vegetation, and geological features. The landslide susceptibility map will be divided into very low, low, medium, high, and very high susceptibility classes, and control structures will be proposed to prevent landslides in areas with high susceptibility.This study, which is planned to be done, will be a guiding base for the areas suffering from landslide disasters.
