A research about the "Hi-tech" architecture

SUMMARY A Research About The "Hi-Tech" Architecture The technology and the technologic products which have effective roles in human life, have appeared as the result of a big struggle since the early ages of humanity. The architecture, and construction industry, trying to adapt themselves to all these technologic developments within the history, were stayed behind the technology and industry. But, especially after the industrial revolution, while the steel and concrete had been entered into the construction industry, many significant variatons and developments have been obtained related to the technique and design. The extension of these variations in the latest period, is the "High Technology" concept; which was araised as a result of the developments in the space and aeronautical industries after Il.World War. The High Technology is a concept that effects architecture and construction industry as well as the other industries, and being a referance to all them. In this study, the Hi-Tech Architecture concept, which has been subsequently appeared after the high technology concept had entered into the architecture in the 1960's, is researched; and the answers of some questions about this subject are treated. For this reason, study has four headlines; The General Information, The Achieved Studies.The Findings and Discussions, The Results and Arguments. In general information section of the study, the history of technology, high technology concept, and the Hi-Tech architecture that is occurred after the high technology concept's entering through the architecture, are mentioned. In the achieved studies section, a construction examination form to reply to the questions related to the Hi-Tech architecture, and a visual analysis matrix are formed; and the 50 sample constructions, accepted as Hi-Tech are examined via these forms. In the findings and discussions section, the properties of the examined constructions are evaluated. In the last section, it is stated that the Hi-Tech Architecture is not a production technique, but is a architectural style applied in the years of 1970-90; besides, the discussions occurred because of the name of this style are emerged.
