Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, modeling studies of hybrid semiconductor lasers, popular in recent years, have been carried out. Semiconductor lasers are often preferred in optical communication systems due to their superior performance, direct modulation with the current, and compactness. Since electrical interconnection causes the problem of speed and attenuation in communication systems, optical interconnection systems are mostly used in these systems. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the quality of light output in photonic structures grown on silicon substrate. Modelling was carried out using LaserMOD commercial software program. InGaAsP / InP material simulation with a wavelength of 1300 nm was performed using the Ritz method. The optical output power and gain of the designed laser are analyzed.
