Abstract (EN)

The order Lepidoptera, in holometabol insects, includes butterflies and moths which carry scales on their wings. A faunistic study was carried out in Hizan (Bitlis) district on Papilionoidea and Hesperioidea superfamilies within this ordo. The study was carried out in 23 localities and a total of 937 samples were examined. As a result of the study, a total of 101 species belonging to 7 families were identified. Of these, 85 species are new records for Hizan district and 4 species (Satyrium (Nordmannia) acaciae, Pseudochazara (s.str.) mniszechii, Carcharodus (Lavatheria) stauderi, Eogenes alcides) for Bitlis province. Threat categories and the distribution of the species in Turkey are included in the study. In addition to some localities studied, pictures of adult individuals belonging to some species are also presented.
