Abstract (EN)

In this study, there were investigated the effect of liming aplications on growth and soil abowground biomass in beech stands in Hopa-Cankurtaran area, Artvin. There was made clear cutting application in 1985 and was planted with beech seedling . Study areas was selected beech plantation areas such as 2 m x 3m plant distance plots. Average rainfall amount of year is 2600mm/ year. At the end of rainfall, soils have asidic characters because of washed soil. There was set of six sample areas each of 400 meter square from these areas. Three areas of these areas applied liming. Rest of other areas were control areas. First year(2009) 100 kg lime aplied for this areas and second year (2010) 100 kg lime applied. Total 200 kg liming applied in these areas. Before the study, soil pH was measured 4,72 in these control areas. After two years, soil pH was measured 5,78.There was determined the presence of trees of liming applied areas have more than percent 10,75 control areas, and breast increment of liming applied have more than 5,3 and total above ground biomass increase percent 5,9 in liming areas more than control areas. There was determined meaningfull as statistical increment at liming application.
