As a restriction form of freedom, the jail system is a concept whose existence is not questioned but have undergone many changes in terms of style, methodology and duration for centuries. It is imposed from the earliest civilizations to present, however no main punishment idea has been adopted. Instead of imprisoning, redemptions like tormenting and forfeiture of commodities were replaced by the idea of imprisoning being the main punishment in 16th century. Prison sentence to be a method that gives the person right to live instead of death or torture, also defending the neccessary have brought up to a level with the efforts of the thinkers and reformists of the Age of Enlightenment. Considering a person to keep the right to live as well as maintain physical and mental health as his basic right, the concept of correction which was left missing in the primary jail systems has come into prominence. Jailhouses should/must aim for crime prevention by protecting the society by isolating the lawbreaker from it, while disciplining and rehabilitating him inside. Today, Jailhouse Psycho-social and Education Unit is responsible for said rehabilitation. In this study, studies of Jailhouse Psycho-social and Education Unit are addressed and it's investigated that to what extent the convict receives the social support he needs under jail conditions, how active and visible this service is in jailhouses. As a result of the conveyed fieldwork, it is found that individuals are aware of the psycho-social services unit, however not find the meetings that held with the unit beneficial.
