Systematic studies on aquatic coleoptera (Dryopidae, Elmidae, Heteroceridae, Hydraenidae) of the inner aegean region

In this study, 1330 samples of Dryopidae, Elmidae, Heteroceridae and Hydraenidae families collected from Afyon, Denizli, Kütahya and Uşak provinces between 2007-2009, Burdur and Isparta provinces in 2019 were evaluated. As a result of the diagnosis procedures, 34 species and 6 subspecies of 10 genera belonging to 4 families were identified. Among these taxa, 3 new species belonging to the Hydraena genus were identified for the first time with this study and 19 taxa (Dryops caspius (Menetries, 1832), D. lutulentus (Erichson, 1847), D. rufipes (Krynicki, 1832), D. similaris Bollow, 1936, D. sulcipennis Costa, 1883, Heterocerus obsoletus Curtis, 1828, Elmis maugetii maugetii Latreille, 1802, E. rioloides (Kuwert, 1890), Grouvellinus caucasicus (Motschulsky, 1839), Limnius opacus opacus P. W. J. Müller, 1806, L. perrisi perrisi (Dufour, 1843), L. satanus Jäch, 1982, Riolus cupreus (P. W. J. Müller, 1806), R. nitens (P.W.J. Müller, 1817), Hydraena attaleiae Ferro, 1984, H. cata Orchymont, 1943, H. schoenmanni Jäch, 1988, Ochthebius maxfischeri Jäch, 1999, O. viridis viridis Peyron,1858) are new records for the study area. The record from Denizli is the first definite locality record of the species Dryops similaris Bollow, 1936 from Turkey. As a result of the evaluation made by using diversity indexes, it was determined that Isparta Yazılı Canyon Nature Park and Denizli Süleymanlı Lake are the richest stations in terms of species diversity.
