Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, we are focused on generation of electricity from drinking water plants which have a high application rate as well as a wide application area and are not applied with different concerns in our country. As drinking water flows generally show high variability from downstream, this condition is particularly taken into account in system designs. In the power plant type and turbine selections, the design has been designed by considering several flow variations between late night and early morning hours. In addition, according to the 2026 vision of Trabzon Drinking Water and Sewerage Administration (TİSKİ), the prediction that the average flow rate of one of the facilities to be operated will decrease by 40%. In the Esiroğlu treatment area, which has the highest flow rate of the administration, researches were made on the selection criteria and operational facilities of the system designed with Pelton type turbine with 5 inkjet. Energy transmission line calculations and energy system designs have been designed so as not to affect the system even if the plant is not working and computer aided calculations have been made. A study was also carried out and commissioned on PaT systems, which is a very economical solution for fixed flow drinking water plants. In addition to the economic analysis of these systems with pump turbines and asynchronous motors, their chemical effects are also examined in detail. Likewise, financial analysis of Esiroğlu HES was made. The catalog data declared by the manufacturers are compared with the data obtained in the field by using the automation-scada systems of the systems. In addition, the effect of turbines on water quality was analyzed. Chemical analysis of the water used was carried out in detail and the effects of different types of turbines and power plants on drinking water quality were investigated.
