Abstract (EN)

Ihsan Abdu'l-Quddûs is a writer who stands out in modern Egyptian literature with his sensitivity to social and individual issues, simple language and innovative perspective. In his novel 'Ene Hurra', he showed his sensitivity to women's rights by dealing with the themes of women's freedom and social inequality. Ihsan Abdu'l-Quddûs' modern literary approach aimed to shed a critical light on social problems while dealing with the psychological aspects of individuals in depth. He critically addressed the traditional structure of the period with his works that encouraged male-female relations and women's participation in social life. The author, who included issues such as women's freedom and social injustice in her works, skilfully combined her journalism and literary identity. Her novel 'Ene Hurra' reflects both women's individuality and the search for identity that comes with modernisation in a critical style. Although criticised by critics for the simplicity of his language and the lack of symbolic elements, Abdu'l-Quddûs aimed to reach a wide audience by conveying human realities and problems in a natural way in his works. What makes the author important in Egyptian literature is his artistic and critical treatment of both social and individual struggles for freedom. The study consists of an introduction and two chapters. In the introduction, the historical development of the novel in Arabic literature in general and Egyptian literature in particular is mentioned. In the first chapter, information about the author's life, literary personality and his works is given. The study Keywords: Modern Arabic Literature: Ihsan Abdu'l-Quddûs; Ene Ḥurra; Novel, Egypt.
