Abstract (EN)

Within the historical process, significance of communication is appeared more clearly afterwards the involvement of press into the life. The press which mâkes its presence felt on the political, social and artistic fields has been an instrument that transmits the news in early periods. Later on, it performs a task as an organ which gives direction to the society, formalizes the politics and determines the life style. Particularly with the decleration of the constitutionalism, press turns out to be the most significant power of the political authority and it performs a duty as a castle for the groups in power and in opposition. Besides the Ottoman statesmen, officers try hard on behalf of keeping this castle under their control, too. One hand, Ottoman military press broadcasts on behalf of strengtening the army and competing it with the modern nation armies, on the other hand they write up some texts with the aim of directing society about ongoing political events. In this study, the Ottoman military press is dealt with, journals and newspapers which were issued are evaluated in terms of both their forms and their contents. During the study, current catalogues are scanned, by means of seeing all of the pieces, they are evaluated with an academic method that is convenient to the methodology of history.
