Abstract (EN)
One of the useful methods in the investigation of the optical anisotropy is the spectroscopic measurements. A convenient technique for this is the ultraviole/visible spectroscopy. In this study, nematic liquid crystals 5CB and 8CB were studied at a determined temperature under variable electric field. At the wavelenght interval of 387-780nm, the optical anisotropy of binary mixtures of nematic liquid crystals has been studied by utilizing a UV/Vis spectrophmeter and a thermal controller. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the electrooptical tranmission of a nematic liquid crystalline in applied AC voltages. Measurements were carried out as a function of the wavelength.
