Abstract (EN)

In this project, it's aimed at the affects of explosions to paleo-landslides which take place on upper levels. These explosions are planned to be stated in 4700 meter-long conveyance tunnels as a part of the hidropower plants in Arakli, Trabzon. Geotechnical characteristics of paleo-landslide material are designated by pressure-meter experiments that are applied in 6 drilling projects and 4 boreholes which took place on the route of and around conveyance tunnels. Besides up-to-date studies, with the help of the studies by EIE in 2004 which include drilling projects and other projects, limit-balance analyses are done with the consideration of vibration that is caused by explosions which would happen during the construction of conveyance tunnels. The risk of mass movements are evaluated with calculated rate of security ration on various conditions which would be a part of earthquake situations, the affect of rain and vibration that are caused by explosions. As a result of analyses, it's concluded that the vibrations that are caused by earthquakes are the most crucial factors on the movement of paleo-landslide. In addition to this, it's determined that there would be no risk of landslide whatsoever originated from explosion of suitable pattern that is laid out with the consideration of instant charge.
