Abstract (EN)

Eperezolide is an antibiotic developed with linezolid in the early 2000's by Pfizer. Eperezolide is the second oxazolidione derivative antibiotic go on the market then linezolid. It is an antimicrobial obtained via organic synthesis. It effects by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Free radicals occur during the processing of normal metabolic pathways in organism or by the effects of various external factors such as environmental agents, stress, radiation. Antioxidants neutralize by preventing the formation of free radicals and so on it prevents body from being effected by free radicals. Antioxidants reduce the loss of nutritional value by extending the shelf life of foods as well as human health benefits. Urease is the enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis to ammonia and carbon dioxide of urine. Ammonia causes metabolic dysfunction in many tissues and organs. For example; stone formation in the urinary tract and stomach ulcer. For the treatment of these diseases inhibitors based on the inhibition of the urease enzyme are being developed. In this study, in addition to antioxidant properties of newly syntesized eperezolit compounds, anti-urease activities have also been examined. Antioxidant iron recuding power was determined according to Oyaizu method, the DPPH radical scavenging activity was determined according to the method described by Brand-Williams et al., the ABTS radical scavenging activity was determined according to the method described by Arnao et al., the urease inhibition activity was determined according to the method described by Van Slyke and Archibald as spectrophotometrically.
