Parents attitudes witht behaviour problems of children in primary school

The purpose of the study was to understand the behavioral attitudes of parentswith children between ages of 7-11 at primary school who had at least one of theproblems of aggressiveness, introversion, stammering, lack of attention and hyperactivebehavioral problems. İn 2006-2007, P.A.R.İ. ?Parental Attitude Research Instrument?was administered to parents of 143 children from 20 primary schools inAfyonkarahisar.The researcher used descriptive analysis and One-way ANOVA in theanalysis of the data.In the results of the study it was seen that aggressive behaviors weremore observed than the other problems in children with problems. .Mothers who tookpart in the research had an average age range of 30-35 and it was 35-40 for fathers.Most of the parents were noticed to be graduates of primary school, more than half ofthem were not working and a great majority of them were with low monthly incomes.This current study showed that 72,1 % of the participants did not accept beinghouse-wife, whereas 68, 9 % of the participants accepted being highly protective ontheir children. The children who had behavioral problems at most were from thefamilies who were highly protective on their children. On the contrary, the children whohad behavioral problems at least were from the discordant families.No meaningfuldifference was found between the behavioral problems and attitudes of the parents.
