The ġmportance of respect ġn the currġculum of relġgġon and moral at prġmary educatġon

The aim of this research is to find out the position of value of respect which is targetted to teach at primary school religion and moral program. The research consists of 4 parts. In the first part, theoritical framework was created after determining the research topic, problem, objective, importance and method. Studies dealt with in this field were placed and approaches of value education were mentioned. In the second part, the place of respect in Islamic tradition of education was identified in Quran, hadith, Islamic phisophers and Islamic mystics. Meanwhile, how Islamic educators transferred the value education to education process was examined in their character education studies. In the third part, how values education and respect were placed in the primary education religion and moral program was examined. In the last part of the study, some suggestions and evidences were given. It was concluded from the study that the value of respect was placed in the education program however there are some shortcomings although it was rearranged in accordance with Islamic tradition.
