Dr. Özer YILMAZThe aim of the study is to investigate the problems encountered in teachinggeography subjects in social science curriculum in second level of primary educationand provide recommendations.The sample of the study was selected among the teachers teaching inAfyonkarahisar. The sample consists of 74 social science teachers teaching in 66primary schools in Afyonkarahisar during academic year of 2005- 2006 questionnairewas administered to collect data.The questionnaire consisted of three sections thirst section was about personalinformation of teachers. Second was about programmed, time, application, tools andmethods. Third section was about the adequacy of school in terms of equipped.SPSS was used to analyze the data. The fallowing statistical analyze was done:frequency, percentage, ?t? and ?f? tests. Null hypothesis α: 0,05 was accepted as thelevel for significance.At the and of the study, same problems occurred in teaching geographysubjects were determined and same recommend dations were made.
