Investigation of the relationship between primary school secondary school students' attitudes towards physical education and arkan relationship levels

This study was conducted to examine the attitudes towards physical education course and peer relationship levels of students studying in central schools affiliated to the Directorate of National Education in Malatya province. The sample group of the research consists of 420 female and 380 male students from these schools. In our research, questionnaire method was used as a data collection tool. The questionnaire form consists of three sections and a total of 64 questions. In the first part, there are 7 statements about demographic variables. In the second part, 'Attitude Scale towards Physical Education and Lesson' consisting of 35 statements and in the third part, 'Peer Relationship Scale' consisting of 22 statements were used. Reliability analyses of the scales were performed by calculating Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient. Descriptive statistics including arithmetic mean, standard deviation, frequency and percentage distributions were presented to provide an idea about demographic information and other group questions. Correlation (Pearson) test was applied to determine students' attitudes towards physical education and sports course and peer relationship levels. In order to determine the relationship between the sub-dimensions of attitudes towards physical education and sports course and peer relationship levels with some demographic variables, skewness and kurtosis (Skewness and Kurtosis) tests were examined in the first place, and according to the test result, Independent Sample T (Independent Sample T) test was applied in the comparison of independent paired groups in the analysis of data that meet the normality conditions. The results were evaluated at 95% confidence interval and significance at p<0.05 level. IBM SPSS Statistics 22 package programme was used in the evaluation of the data. According to the results of our study, according to the answers received from the scale of attitudes towards physical education and sports course, statistically significant differences were found between the groups in the variables of class and course status, while no statistically significant differences were found in gender, number of siblings, mother's education status, father's education status and sports participation status. In the peer relations scale, while statistically significant differences were found between the groups in the variables of grade, number of siblings and course status; no statistically significant differences were found between the groups in the variables of gender, mother's education level, father's education level and doing sports.
