A study about 5 th class student's of primary school wealth of active vocabulary (example of düzce / akçakoca)

The aim of this study is identification of active vocabularies on writingexpressing on 90 students who are at 5th class in Akçakoca in Düzce. In our study 270subjects were evaluated according to their branches (memory, autobiography, freesubject) on 90 students in Akçakoca.In the study, 20473 vocabularies were found in 270 writing composition. 1836words of 20473 words are different words and 18637 words are repeated words of thesewords. Of these 20473 words are sequenced like this: Memory is 7268 words, 5762 isautobiography, 7443 free words.Those words used are: 1162 words are memory, 776 words are autobiographyand free words are 981 words.In written compositions, we saw the words in free words mostly. Autobiographyis the least given word and the most different. So, the students prefer free words.Key words: word, vocabulary, written expression, Turkish education.
