Abstract (EN)
In the current study, in mathematics lesson, based on the activities based on the Realistic Mathematics Education (GME) approach, the influence of the third grade students on the data learning field and the persistence of this effect have been researched. For that purpose, a pilot study was performed with 53 students of third grade in mathematic course at primary schools, during the two weeks. The main study was also performed with 41 students of third grade in mathematic course at primarily for the same time. The research conducted in a semi-experimental manner. In the experimental method, the experimental and control group achievement levels in the data learning field form compared using the "pre-test-post-test-retention test control group model". For the experiment and control group, "Data Learning Area Achievement Test" applied as pretest, post-test and permanence test. The sample of the study was identified in the spring term of 2017-2018 using an easily accessible sampling method, one of the unselected sampling approaches. (Experimental group: K=13, E=8; Control group: F=13, M=7) "Personal Information Form" as a collection tool, "Data Learning Area Achievement Test" developed by the researcher is used. The assessment enstruments in this study were repeatedly applied as a pre-test to students of both experimental and control group, before one week from over the beginning of sessions; as a post-test after the sessions were completed; and as a following measurement, in order to determine the permanence of the experimental manipulation, after one two weeks from the post-test measurements. In data analysis, parametric and non-parametric tests were used by data distrubution and assumptions. The duration of the training is planned as 5 weeks. While activities based on GME approach were used in the experimental group, teaching was continuing in parallel with the activities in the current teacher's manual in the control group. The findings were showed that teaching based on activities based on GME approach was increased data learning area achievement levels of the students in the experimental group and this was retained in the follow up measurements for data learning area achievement levels. These findings of the current study were discussed and suggestions for future researcheswere made.
