Opinions and strategies of teachers used against undesired behaviours of primary and middle school students in class

In this research, which has been made according to Qualitative Research process, Primary and Middle Class Teachers? views and practices against unwanted behaviors are to be determined. Participants of the research are 20 teachers of differing branches, which are from National Education Ministry Schools of City of Istanbul. Semi-Structured Interview Technique is used in the research. Descriptive Analysis and Continuous Comparison Methods are used in analysis of the data. Results of the data analysis show that teachers? perception of class is adequate, and they also face with an undesirable behavior in the classroom encounter. The sources for this undesirable behavior have been identified as the family, school and the physical structure of the class, the environment and the media. Also it has being seeing that teachers have used different strategies and methods in order to prevent the unwanted behaviors. It has being shown that the in-service training of teacher and them renewing themselves is insufficient and the teaching gained from university is inadequate in teaching. The suggestions for to overcome these type of issues can be listed as; improving the physical environment of schools, reducing the size of the classes, educational seminars towards families, students and environment, more in-service training in guiding to the teachers, and finally review of the programs that has being studies on university and this shall reach out to nursery and high school.
