Relationship between the organizational creativity behaviors and teacher leadership in primary schools

In this study, it was purposed to determine the relationship between organizational creativity behaviors and teacher leadership in primary schools. The study was designed in the survey model. The universe of the study is consisted of 700 teacher who work in primary schools in the city center of Kütahya in first period of 2015-2016 academic year. The sample of the study is consisted of defined by simple random sampling technique. The sample of the study consists of 190 primary school teachers. The study data was collected from The Organizational Creativity Inventory developed by Balay (2010), adapted into scholls by Karacabey (2011) and Teacher Leadership Scale developed by Beycioğlu (2009). In this study, descriptive statistics, t-test for comparisons, one way variance analysis and Kruskal Wallis H test were used in order to determine the views of teachers related to the organizational creativity and teacher leadership. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient were used in order to determine the relationship between teachers' organizational creativity and teacher leadership behaviors. According to the findings obtained from the study; teachers showed the highest level of participation among the sub-dimensions of organizational creativity as Individual Dimension. Teachers showed equal participation in Administrative Dimension and Social Dimension. Teachers attending the study showed respectively the highest level of participation among the subdimensions of teacher leadership as Professional Development Dimension, Cooperation With Colleagues Dimension and Institutional Development Dimension. There was a positive direction, mid-level, significant relationships between the teachers' Individual Dimension and Social Dimension behaviors of organizational creativity and in all dimensions of teacher leadership. There was a positive direction, low level, significant relationships between the teachers' Administrative Dimension behaviors of organizational creativity and in all dimensions of teacher leadership.
