Abstract (EN)

Public opinion plays a significant role in understanding the dynamics of human behavior. Shaped by social interactions, public opinion varies depending on the types of relationships individuals form with each other. Researchers have studied stable and unchanging relationships, which we refer to as "permanent" in opinion dynamics. This studyexamines the impact of shortterm temporary relationships that individuals form with different people on opinion dynamics. To demonstrate the effect of temporary links, the concepts of extremists and pluralistic ignorance are utilized. Pluralistic ignorance refers to asituation in society where individuals, thinking that others do not believe in what they themselves believe, fall into the illusion of the majority supported idea, thereby supporting the social norm. This creates a discrepancy between private and expressed opinion. This study explores the impact of temporary relationships on opinion diffusion processes and opinion dynamics under various scenarios. After observing the effect of different character types on agent behaviors, we examined whether gradually adding temporary links with the inclusion of extremists would make a difference. While temporary links produced similar results to permanent links by the end of the process, the process itself was found to be different. Temporary links increase the number of individuals interacted with in society, helping people converge to the social average opinion.
