Abstract (EN)
Depending on the development in the construction sector, concrete technology is continuously developing. In recent years, many researches have been execute on the use of industrial by-products in concrete production. In this study, granulated blast furnace slag, an industrial by-product, was used instead of fine aggregate and its effect on concrete properties was investigated experimentally. In the concrete mixes produced in this context, granulated blast furnace slag and sand were replaced by 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The granulated blast furnace slag used in the experiments was obtained from Kardemir Inc. The properties of concretes prepared with different water / binder and slag ratios were compared with those of control concrete mixtures produced without granulated blast furnace slag. For this purpose, slump on fresh concrete, unit weight, water absorption, ultrasonic sound transfer rate, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength tests on hardened concrete and elastic modulus measurements were made. According to the results, the use of granulated blast furnace slag aggregate negatively affected the mechanical and physical properties.
