Abstract (EN)
Considering its significant impact on the design of structures, the construction sector faces many challenges, which include material waste, overruns in costs, and delays in the completion of projects. This study shows that revolutionary results can be achieved by applying the Lean 5S technique to the management of materials on building construction sites. The study takes an in-depth examination with a thorough analysis of the literature to determine the possible reasons for the waste of materials as well as the beneficial effects of combining BIM and lean construction techniques. After that, the study examines the current state of quality control procedures using the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) methodology. Organized arrangement and strategic placement based on 5S have optimized the storage of critical supplies, resulting in improved visual appeal, higher efficiency while sorting, and streamlined processes. The implementation of Building information modelling (BIM) software has changed the estimating and ordering of Ready-mix concrete (RMC) by ensuring correct quantity estimations as well as effective allocation of resources. STAAD PRO software is used to do a comprehensive analysis of foundation design parameters to maximize resource distribution and reduce material loss. Waste reduction strategies, such as material recycling and reuse as well as the application of well-organized transportation methods, improve sustainability even further. This comprehensive strategy encourages environmental sustainability and substantially reduces costs. Moving forward, compliance with these principles is being committed to increasing project outcomes as well as the primary objective of developing an effective and environmentally friendly construction industry.
