Abstract (EN)
Selime town, up to Aksaray city's Güzelyurt district, has historical and touristic importance since it is the gateway of the Ihlara Valley. This historical and cultural inheritance should be protected relevantly with historic texture. Cappadocia is exposed to deformation because of fairy chimneys, rain, wind, temperature and other physical factors that exist along its shade. Due to these deformations and rock structures, many rock fall occurs in the region. In this thesis study, the rock mass volumes, that have falling risk, are measured using Terrestrial Lidar (TLS), Mobile Lidar (MLS), and Unmanned Vehicle (UAV) systems. Digital terrain model (DTM) and digital elevation model (DEM), which are two of the most important input parameters, were generated and modeled in 3D with all the systems sensitively. Volume measurements, made with UAV, MLS and TLS, were examined and compared. After comparsion, differences between TLS and MLS systems were – 1.39 m3 , -3.12 m3, -1.04 m3, and -0.16 m3, respectively. The volume differences between the TLS and UAV systems were -2.34 m3, -5.28 m3, -3.47 m3, -1.66 m3 , respectively. According to our results, there are not very large differences among all the systems that we used to calculate the rock mass volume. Therefore, it can be concluded that these three systems can be used for accurate rock mass volume calculation studies.
