Examining the contemporary suicide cases i̇n the context of hadiths related to suicide

A person'sputting an end to his or her life with his or her own hand by abducting the very basic human right to live It is one of the most tragic events. To overcome this problem, It is necessary to study the problems which cause the individuals to commit suicide and to dispose of them. Every science which has read up on this matter has judged the events according to its own point of view and given the solution oriented advices. The aim of this study is to contribute to the prevention of suicidal behaviour by making proposals which will be able to be the solution of the problems causing the suicidal events from the hadith scripts. The study composes of an introduction and three sections. In the first section of the thesis, the suicide as a concept and the causes which lead people to commit suicide have been studied within the context of the data of TSI (Turkish Statistical Institute) and the previous studies about the field. And then, the methods which people use when they commit suicide heve been discussed and to be able to prevent the suicidal events, the solution and proposals which the positive sciences find necessary have been urged upon. In the second section, the homicide action have been primarily talked about because it is closly related the matter; In the next level, the hadits about the suicide from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) have been found out and the sources, narrative differences and glosses of these hadits have been had recourse to. In the third section, about the moral and material issues which heve been determined that they cause the suicidal events, the matters which will be able to be a solution from the hadits have been determined, and the codes of a sustainable world life and the role of the hadits on the prevention of suicide events have been urged upon. It has been concluded that if the solution suggestions presented in the study are applied to people who have suicidal thoughts, the act of suicide can be prevented.
