Abstract (EN)

Present thesis is devoted to estimate the air-conditioning and heating loads of modern buildings in Duhok City, using new mathematical models. Many parameters have been considered in current modeling, namely, area of building, number of storeys and types of the common material for the building walls. Regression analysis was performed to formulate new mathematical linear and nonlinear models for the loads. Fuzzy logic was also utilized in the third model employing Sugeno's regulation which is depended on constant functions for the output; while linear membership functions were used for the inputs (i.e. area of the building and its storeys). Fuzzy tool box in MATLAB software was employed in present analysis. Statistical assessment was carried out to check the validity of the proposed mathematical models. Outcomes reveal that reasonable matching between the proposed models and analytical solution of heating and air-conditioning standards. Consequently, high correlation coefficient of more than 85% was determined between the predicted values by the models and analytical results. Linear model shows perfect matching with the analytical outputs than the other proposed mathematical formulations.
