Abstract (EN)

Action and Thought Journal is a periodical which was broadcast as Turkish Cultural ve Social Research Association's media organ by Ziyaeddin Fahri Fındıkoğlu in 1934. Action and Thought Journal which was actively broadcast in 1934-1973 and run a unity of though and concensus conducted long-termed cultural activity. The journal never compromised its principled and fixed attitude in its own period. Action and Thought Journal, which published articles in all kinds of subjects, conducted studies on the matters of Turkey both theoretically and practically. The purpose of this study is to comprehend and interpret the remarks and thoughts of Action and Thought Journal on the issues of language, morals, education, literature, press, folklore and besides to perceive the social structure of the period. This study consists of three sections. The first section mentions the life of Ziyaeddin Fahri Fındıkoğlu and general characteristics of Action and Thought Journal. In the second section the concept of culture is discussed and analyzed. And in the third section, cultural issues of Action and Thought Journal are mentioned and interpreted. Action and Thought Journal consists of 278 issues. The articles in these issues are sorted out within the scope of certain themes and topics. The articles that are suitable to the purpose of this study are determined and evaluated in the study and Content Analysis Method is used. As a result, Action and Thought Journal followed a national policy. In an intellectual context, Action and Thought Journal generated its world of thought feeding from Turkish history and cultural structure of society.
