Risk analysis in occupational health and safety: An application from highways construction works

In terms of transportation, four types of roads are commonly preferred worldwide: airway, seaway, railway and road. Among the types of transportation, the most preferred one in the world and in our country is highway. In this regard, highways play a very important role in terms of transportation. In our country, especially in recent years, new highways are created or current roads are renewed and improved in line with the requirement. In this study, considering the current conditions of a company that is a highway construction contractor in one of the provinces under the responsibility of the 8th Regional Directorate of Highways, dangers that may pose a risk to human and environmental health were determined and risk assessment was made using the L Type (5x5) Matrix method.
